After beginning her career in banking, Kathy transitioned to the trust business in 1991, at what was then the Exchange Bank of Schmidt & Koester in Marysville, KS. Kathy has remained a consistent and dependable resource for her clients throughout several ownership changes. She is thrilled about the stability and capabilities that The Trust Company will now provide to her longtime clients.

Kathy—whose claim to fame is as Nebraska State Champion in the Future Business Leaders of America’s Junior Clerk Typist competition—has more than 30 years of experience in banking, financial operations, trusts, and as a fiduciary.

 

She has completed the School of Trust and Financial Services, as well as the Advanced School of Trust, both sponsored by the Kansas and Nebraska Bankers Associations. She has also completed the American Bankers Association’s National Trust School at Northwestern University, and continues her education at the KBA Trust & MOKAN annual Trust Conferences.

 

Although born & raised in Nebraska, Kathy quips that she was required to change her allegiance to the KSU Wildcats as a condition of her marriage to husband Ed. Together they have three grown children, three grandchildren, and a grandchild on the way.
