Investment Officer & Portfolio Manager
It’s not entirely clear when Kurt caught the research bug, but he’s been putting it to good use in the investment field for nearly ten years.
A 2016 addition to our Investment Management team, Kurt mainly focuses on equity manager research and performance analysis. He is a member of the Investment Committee and provides expertise in client portfolio management.
Just before joining The Trust Company, Kurt was a senior consultant for a major Chicago firm, where he performed due diligence research on non-U.S., global, emerging markets and passive equity managers. Prior to that role, he was a senior performance analyst producing research reports for clients, conducting manager update meetings, and establishing performance reporting efficiencies and quality control procedures.
“I really enjoy the research side of investments and understanding the motivations of different fund managers. It’s very satisfying to apply these deep insights in order to inform sound decisions for client account management.”
Indeed! The Trust Company is not the sole beneficiary of Kurt’s investigative talent. Currently he is researching the existing flora in the garden of his new home, so he can determine the most effective, long-term, high-yield plant portfolio.
Kurt grew up in New Hampshire and recently moved to Kansas with his wife, Nicolette, who is a faculty member at Kansas State University. They welcomed their first baby, Katherine, this June.
