Michal Emory

Vice President & Chief Investment Officer

Michal was named Vice President & Chief Investment Officer of The Trust Company in 2016.  He heads the Investment Committee and oversees all internal investment decisions and strategies.

He got the math gene from his dad, who, Michal recalls fondly, could calculate baseball stats in his head faster than Michal could using a calculator. He has no regrets about choosing an investment career over his boyhood aspiration of being the first professional baseball player in space.

“To me, a successful day is one in which I have done three things: learned something, given something, and taught something.  In this profession, I get to do it all, and I can’t imagine myself doing anything different.”

Michal has 14 years of experience in the investment industry. Most recently he served as Vice President – Investments for The Trust Company of Kansas, where he was responsible for the investment process, from research to implementation of investment portfolios. Michal is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and holds the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation.

Michal graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mid-America Christian University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He was an Academic All-American and a member of the 1998 NCCAA National Champion basketball team. (Incidentally, his dad played college basketball, too, and for the same coach.)

In their free time, Michal and his wife, Kandace, enjoy spending time with their boys.
