A friend in Manhattan told Scott City product Todd Chyba (“HIB-uh”) that The Trust Company was looking for someone just like him, which led him to join the company in 2011 as the compliance officer and retirement plan specialist. Of course, as a former K-Stater, and as the husband of a Manhattan native, it was mostly a question of finding his way back home.
A self-proclaimed “fancy card shuffler” and juggler, Todd earned a bachelor’s in accounting from K-State and his MBA from Rockhurst University. Todd is a credentialed member of the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) and holds the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) designation. He also completed the School of Trust and Financial Services Trust School offered by the Schools of Banking.
Todd primarily works with employers, retirement plan sponsors and employees to administer the business retirement plans The Trust Company establishes and oversees.
“Once we get a plan set up that makes sense for the business, I like to work directly with the employees on education about what saving for retirement means to their future. We often just sit down with them and talk finances, and I really enjoy helping people understand the big picture.”
Todd's on the board of directors of Good Shepherd Homecare & Hospice, and is a member of the Manhattan Breakfast Optimist Club. He also has special passions for baseball and barbeque. Todd and his wife, Alison, a teacher for the Manhattan-Ogden school district, have two daughters, Sydney and Ashley.
