Vice President and Trust Officer
Doug has been with the Manhattan office of The Trust Company since 1994. He works directly with clients to create their investment portfolios and plan their financial strategies. Doug is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who specializes in charitable trust administration and charitable planning. He also works with charities on administration of gift annuities or charitable trusts.
“We try to treat our clients’ finances as we do our own personal finances, with equal importance. We like to go above and beyond for our clients.”
Doug earned his bachelor’s in business administration from Kansas State University. He earned both a master’s in financial planning and a master planner, advanced studies certificate from the College of Financial Planning in Denver.
A fan of all college sports but especially K-State, he and his wife, Sandra, an owner and senior consultant with an accounting consulting firm, also enjoy performances at McCain Auditorium. And they take every chance they can to spend time with their three children — Charlie, Deanna and Sarah — and their five grandchildren.
Doug rarely sends his wife flowers on Valentine’s Day, although he might cut loose and bring home some roses any other time.
“I love my wife 365 days a year — not just on February 14.”
He is a stockholder of The Trust Company.
