Mark began his career in trust and investment management in 1983 after earning his bachelor’s degree in Public Administration & Economics from Emporia State University and juris doctor and MBA from the University of Kansas.
He was the Vice President of Commerce Bank and Trust of Topeka and then managed the Trust and Investment Department for First National Bank of Manhattan before founding The Trust Company in 1992.

As the CEO of The Trust Company, he oversees corporate management decisions, is a member of the Investment Committee, the Executive Team, and the company's Board of Directors.
Mark and his wife, Ann, a retired Kansas State University professor, have three grown children, Ellen, Paul and Francie. Mark and Ann remain active with numerous civic, social and charitable causes. In their spare time, they love gardening, tending to their historic home adjacent to the K-State campus, and traveling with friends.
Mark is the largest stockholder of The Trust Company and a member of the Board of Directors.
