Tammy Bennett serves as an Account Administrator in our Lawrence office, bringing more than 30 years of experience in public service, community engagement, and nonprofit leadership. She spent the bulk of her career with the City of Lawrence, where she rose to the role of Assistant Director of Public Works before transitioning into leadership positions with national public works associations.

Early in her career, Tammy noticed a city manager casually picking up litter on his way into work—a small gesture that left a lasting impression. It reinforced her belief in humility, shared responsibility, and the importance of stepping in wherever help is needed. That same mindset guides her work today at The Trust Company, where she’s known for her service-driven approach, attention to detail, and genuine commitment to making clients feel supported and cared for.

Tammy holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas and earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential in 2024. 

Tammy lives in Lawrence with her husband, Steve, and their two lovable (and VERY goofy) dogs. She enjoys time with her adult son and daughter-in-law, monthly book club gatherings, audiobooks, and neighborhood walks she affectionately calls “entertaining exercise.” She’s also a longtime volunteer with the Douglas County Citizen Review Board, advocating for children and families navigating the court system.
