Did you get bought out by Schwab? No, The Trust Company remains fully independent—there is no ownership change or structural shift taking place. What is changing is the vendor we use for our custodial relationship. A custodian is similar to a bank account—it’s the institution we contract with to safeguard your investment assets and facilitate transactions such as buying or selling stocks and bonds to and from Wall Street.Currently, we work with two custodians to meet our clients’ needs. By transitioning to Schwab’s custodial services, we’re consolidating to a single provider. This move will streamline operations and provide meaningful upgrades in technology and efficiency—benefits we’re excited to bring to our clients. It’s important to note that we are not affiliating with Schwab’s retail investment advisory services, nor is Schwab acquiring us. We’re simply using their custodial platform—the same type of behind-the-scenes service we’ve always relied on, just now through a more widely recognized name.We know “Schwab” may bring to mind their branches, investment products, or financial advisors. But our relationship is solely with the institutional side of Schwab that serves independent firms like ours, allowing us to enhance our service while remaining fully aligned with our fiduciary duty to you. Do I need to download my current statements? Yes. If you'd like to retain access to historical account documents from the current portal, we recommend downloading those statements before January 2026. Can I access or withdraw funds from my account during the transition week? No. From October 6–10, trading and fund distributions will be restricted as assets move to Schwab. If you anticipate needing funds during that window, please contact your Client Service Team no later than Monday, September 29th so we can plan accordingly. Will this impact my investments or how my account is managed? No, this change will not impact your investments or how your account is managed. Our investment strategy, team structure, and your advisor relationship all remain the same. The only change is in the custodian and software we use behind the scenes to support your account. Your advisor is still your advisor—and your primary point of contact. Will I continue working with the same advisor and team? Absolutely. Your advisor and the Client Service Team you know and trust will remainunchanged and are here to support you throughout the transition. When will I have access to the new portal? If you choose to use Schwab Alliance, you’ll be set up during the account opening process. After the transition is complete, we’ll also provide instructions to access The Trust Company’s new, enhanced client portal—an additional option alongside Schwab Alliance. In the meantime, access to the current portal (Infovisa) will remain available until no earlier than January 2026. Who should I contact with questions? Your Client Service Team is always here to help. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. Will my distributions or contributions be affected during the transition? Yes, temporarily. Distributions normally scheduled for October 15th will be processed early, on October 3rd. Contributions typically made on the 5th or 15th will be delayed until October 27th. Regular scheduling will resume in November. Is any action required on my part? Yes. Your advisor team will be reaching out to guide you through the process of signing the necessary paperwork. We can send documents electronically for you to review and sign digitally. The email subject is "From your Independent Advisor". If you prefer to sign in person, we’re happy to accommodate that—just be sure to schedule a time with your account administrator so we can prepare everything in advance. Why is my account balance decreasing in the old portal? As your assets transfer to Schwab, your balance in the current (Infovisa) portal will decline accordingly. These movements will be reflected as incoming transfers in your Schwab Alliance portal. This is a normal part of the process and not cause for concern—your assets are simply being moved securely between custodians. When can I expect a statement that shows my assets moved to Schwab? You will receive a post-conversion statement confirming the assets that transferred to Schwab. However, please note this statement may take several weeks to be generated and delivered after the transition is complete. Will my fees be affected? No. Your current fee structure will remain exactly the same. Why are you transitioning to a new custodial platform? We’ve chosen Schwab Advisor Services due to its advanced technology, enhanced data security, and strong alignment with our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional client service. I've received a lot of mail from Schwab. Do I need to take any action with any of it? The mail you're receiving from Schwab during the transition are mostly just disclosures and informational in nature. These notices are automatically triggered when paperwork is signed. Your advisor team will inform you before they mail you anything that needs signatures or further action.
